Sierra begun dancing at the age of 3 in her home town of Hamilton, Ontario. She started out in acro and tap and instantly fell in love with dancing. She started training in gymnastics since the age of 9 and became a certified gymnastics coach with her Level 2 at age 16 at Regionettes Gymnastics. She started dancing competitively at the age of 9. She then started additional training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Modern, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Tumbling and has attended multiple workshops within Ontario and New York. She has been trained by dancers/choreographers such as Everett Smith, David Cox, Luther Brown and more. She has been a member of Team Canada and received a bronze medal. During her last competing year, she had began teaching hip-hop, heels and jazz funk at her home studio, Expressions Dance Company. She was then off to school and began studying for her Bachelors of Arts in Creative Writing and English. She was a member of the Brock Dance Pak at Brock University as well as a team member of Live4Dance and continued her training with Urban Dance Crew, Regiment 9, also went to train under well versed choreographers at The Underground Dance Centre in Toronto. She has performed with various Canadian artists, such as Shawn Desman and Keisha Cole, and had danced in multiple music videos with underground rap artists, such as, Pryde and Classified. She has moved from out east to see what the rest of Canada has to offer, and recently had the opportunity to go on tour within the west coast with her previous Hip-Hop instructor, to teach her the ins-and-outs of the business. Sierra aspires to end up in Los Angeles to train under some of the worlds most famous choreographers and is very excited to share what she has to offer and become a part of the United Dance community!
Michelle (Meesh) Jensen will be best known to dancers at United Dance as "Miss Meesh", as she was one of the co-founders of United Dance in 2015. While she has moved on from teaching at the studio every day, she is excited to be involved in the summer intensive, and for guest choreography in Hip Hop. She has extensive training in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Musical Theatre, though her passion for Hip Hop grew in Calgary where she was part of theTOMORROWS. Miss Meesh both trained and taught during her years in Calgary, and brought her passion for dance to Invermere when she co-founded United Dance. Her students have received top choreography and performance awards, and she has trained them to a caliber where they have attended competition internationally, participating in Monsters in Las Vegas in 2018. In the last few years, she has performed for professional singer Inez Jasper, and appears in several videos with "theTOMORROWS" shot by Lenny Len. Miss Meesh loves teaching hip hop in Invermere as it allows her to share her knowledge and passion with the next generation of dancers. She has put in numerous hours of professional development training and looks forward to continuing to watch the dancers at United Dance grow their skills.
